ANDREA BETTINI is one of the founding and managing partners of Bettini Formigaro Pericu, who works in both the Genoa and Milan offices.

He began as a pupil of Franco Bonelli in 1983 and was a co-founding partner of Bonelli Erede Pappalardo, which he left in 2008 to establish Bettini Pericu, followed by Bettini Formigaro Pericu.

For more than 30 years he has represented major listed and unlisted companies in a wide array of commercial and corporate operations, including M&A deals, extraordinary corporate reorganizations and restructuring, as well as debt and equity capital markets transactions. He is also actively involved in bankruptcy law such that he has assisted companies in major insolvency proceedings for years has represented leading businesses in restructuring and turnaround processes and litigation involving management and control boards.

In particular, he has actively participated in key debt restructuring processes according to the former Italian bankruptcy legislation, helping to build up the practical experience and evolution in the sector that was behind the creation of the new Italian law of debt restructuring.

In the last five years, as the debtor’s legal advisor, he has formed an integral part of some of the most important corporate restructuring operations in the Italian market.

He has developed a particular expertise in the real estate and energy sector, as well as in the public utilities sector, in which Bettini Formigaro Pericu actively operates by advising private and public, domestic and international companies in their transactions in Italy and abroad.

Mr. Bettini advises clients in litigation matters in which he began his legal career with a specific focus on corporate and civil litigation as well as arbitration procedures. 

Currently, Mr. Bettini is a member of the board of directors of companies operating in the energy sector and has in the past acted as a member of the board of listed companies.

He graduated magna cum laude from the University of Genoa in 1983, and has been a member of the Genoa Bar Association since 1986.

He has been a speaker at numerous seminars and has published works on bankruptcy law.
