GIOVANNA GIACCHERO is a counsel in the Milan office.

She has developed an extensive expertise in commercial and corporate law, assisting in particular Italian and international clients in cross-border and domestic M&A and Capital Markets transactions. She represents companies across a number of sectors, including energy, tourism, fashion, media and telecommunications sectors.

She has developed in particular a wide expertise in the energy industry, assisting clients in the negotiation and drafting of all documents typically required for the acquisition, the development and the financing of energy plants, including renewable energy power plants, energy transmission and distribution systems.

Before joining BFP in 2010, she worked in the Milan office of a leading Italian law firm.

In 2011, she worked as visiting foreign attorney in a prestigious New York law firm.

She is also a published author, selected conference panellist and former lecturer of Comparative Law at the University of Genoa. As a Ph.D. candidate she was a visiting scholar at Yale Law School and at the University of Berkeley, California, School of Law (Boalt Hall).

In 2001, she obtained her Ph.D in Comparative Law at the University of Florence. In 2003 she obtained a Master of Law (LL.M.) from Harvard Law School.

She graduated summa cum laude from the University of Genoa in 1991, and was admitted to the Italian Bar as a member of the Milan Bar Association in 1994.
